Toucans are colorful and charismatic birds belonging to the family Ramphastidae. They are best known for their large, vibrant bills, which can be nearly as long as their bodies. These bills, while seemingly heavy, are surprisingly lightweight due to their hollow structure. Toucans are typically found in tropical and subtropical forests across Central and South America, where they play an important role in seed dispersal.

The most recognizable species is the Keel-billed Toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus), which has a bright yellow body, green and red accents, and a distinctive multicolored bill. Other species, like the Toco Toucan (Ramphastos toco), showcase bold black and orange plumage.
